Richard Ellis joined Murgitroyd in December 2022 as part of the acquisition of Turnbull Lynch Intellectual Property by Murgitroyd.
Following undergraduate studies in Engineering Physics, Richard undertook a PhD in materials analysis, working with Corus to analyse material properties of their strip and processed products. Richard also previously worked for IBM in one of their Functional Verification teams, developing and maintaining test systems then spent 6 years in research and development roles requiring project management, design and innovation skills. The roles included instrumentation and sensor design and software algorithm development.
More recently Richard has spent the past eleven years advising in relation to intellectual property such as patents, trade marks and designs, in a wide range of fields including consumer goods, construction, automotive, aerospace and telecommunications. With a wealth of background knowledge and the ability to relate to real world research and development, Richard is ideally suited to advise on client’s intellectual property matters.
Richard is based in our Cambridge Office.
