Shamil Rasheed
European Patent Attorney
Centre de Londres
Shamil Rasheed specialises in drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a broad range of technologies, including mechanical and electronic devices, computer-implemented inventions (CII) and software.
Experienced in prosecution at the EPO and UKIPO at all stages of proceedings (from filing to grant), Shamil has a focus on computer-implemented inventions (CII), where subject-matter lies close to the border of patentability in Europe and the UK. He also assists with EPO appeals and the management of global patent portfolios, working with a wide range of clients, from multinationals to start-ups.
With a Master’s degree in electronic engineering, Shamil has been exposed to a significant amount of technological subject matter that helps him to quickly get to grips with his clients’ inventions. This includes sensors and instrumentation, signals and communication systems, biologically-inspired computation and neural networks, control engineering, computer architectures and analogue and digital electronics. Shamil often ventures out of his comfort zone to investigate new areas in which technology can play an integral role in modern science. As an example, his university dissertation focused on ‘The Detection of Psychopathy Using Voice Analysis Methods’.
Shamil has a keen interest in the gaming sector on both a professional and personal level. He is particularly interested in the wider applications of modern gaming technology in industries such as the medical and automotive sectors.
Shamil joined Murgitroyd in 2022.
