Lin Bo joined Murgitroyd in August 2021 following the acquisition of Hanna Moore + Curley by Murgitroyd. Lin is a Patent Scientist and a part-qualified European Patent Attorney.
Lin received her science degree in Materials Physics from University of Science and Technology Beijing, in China. She then obtained her PhD at the Photonics Research Centre at Technological University Dublin, undertaking research focused on developing novel optical microfibre based sensors. The research was done in collaboration with University of Southampton, Dublin City University, and MIT and produced over twenty publications in scientific journals.
Finding that patenting leveraged her analytical skills developed during her research, Lin pursued a career to become a patent attorney. Since joining the profession, Lin has prepared and prosecuted patent applications for clients ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations and semi state bodies. Lin works extensively with computer-implemented inventions and software technologies. Her area of expertise includes sensing devices and systems, and in particular optical fibre sensors. She also has considerable experience prosecuting patent applications in the field of wireless technologies.
Lin’s work focuses on drafting and prosecuting European, UK, and Irish patent applications. Her practice extends to oppositions and infringement opinion. Lin also advises clients on design matters. Lin is actively involved in IP portfolio management.
