This week at Murgitroyd, we launched our refreshed brand by flying a new Murgitroyd flag at our Global Headquarters in Glasgow. Bearing this in mind, we decided we would focus this week’s lighter side of IP article on flags.
Did you know that if you try to register a design with a flag of any country party to the Paris Convention the registration will be automatically be objected to unless you can prove you have permission to use this?
Since this is the lighter side of IP, here are some fun flag facts!
- Did you know that there are only two sovereign-state flags which are square instead of rectangle? The Vatican and the Swiss flag.
- The Hawaiian flag contains a British Union Jack.
- The national flag of Fiji depicts a bunch of bananas.
