Annabel Hanratty works with clients across all sectors including sports, beauty, retail, health tech, food and drink, medical tech, financial services, software, business services, energy and manufacturing.
Experienced in developing and implementing IP strategies that match her clients’ commercial needs, including managing national and global trade mark portfolios, Annabel’s work includes trade mark clearance searching, filing, prosecution and enforcement. She handles contentious IP matters including trade mark oppositions, trade mark cancellation actions and domain name dispute resolution proceedings. Annabel recognises that each matter and each client is different, and tailors her advice according to her clients’ needs. She is also experienced in the negotiation of dispute settlement agreements, advising on trade mark infringement and passing-off matters.
Annabel won each of the top prizes for the student with the best overall marks when taking both sets of UK-wide qualifying exams to become a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney (Queen Mary University of London — Director’s Prize for Best Overall Student for foundation exams; Nottingham Trent University (Law) — Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorney Prize for highest marks in the final exams).
Annabel entered the profession in 2012 with UDL and joined Murgitroyd as part of the addition of the UDL team to the Murgitroyd team in October 2021.
