Marvin Sánchez-Garache is a member of our Electrical Engineering and Software Patent Search Team.

Marvin joined the firm in 2018 as a Principal Intellectual Property (IP) Engineer. He received his Dipl.-Ing. in Electronics Engineering from the National University of Engineering (UNI), and received his PhD and Licentiate of Engineering (LicEng) degrees in Radio Communication Systems from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He was a Post-Doctoral researcher at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), Scotland. He focused on LTE and DSRC for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).

Marvin has worked on cellular network planning and optimisation, radio network design and optimisation of GERAN, WCDMA/HSPA+ with Multicarrier and LTE (E-UTRAN), cellular radio access networks (RAN) design and optimisation for various businesses and operators in Nicaragua, Panama, Jamaica, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, and French West Indies. He also worked for the Nicaraguan Regulator of Telecommunications as Regulatory Policies and Licensing Department Head. He is a Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at UNI, where he gives lectures on many aspects of telecommunications including stochastic modelling and simulation applied to telecommunication systems. On the RF scientific research area, he has publications on cellular networks, multi-hop Ad-Hoc networks with advanced antenna systems, and on vehicular Ad-Hoc networking.

Marvin’s intellectual property experience has been principally in technical areas such as cellular networks, MIMO systems, LTE/E‑UTRAN, WIFI, Bluetooth, optical transport networks, DOCSIS, video coding, virtual reality and augmented reality, and machine learning, amongst others. But he is also consulted to assist clients in other technical areas, given his technical expertise.

Marvin is based in our Managua office.
