John Collins

Dr John Collins is a Chartered and European Patent Attorney and a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney whose technical expertise lies in electronics and particularly in the field of software, Internet and business method patents both in Europe and the US. He has considerable experience of proceedings before the European Patent Office, including oppositions and appeals and also has experience in litigation both in the UK and the USA.

During his practice over more than 30 years, he has acted for many different clients on a wide spectrum of intellectual property matters, ranging from prosecuting and managing extensive patent portfolios for corporations to guiding and assisting start-up companies to develop the necessary valuable intellectual property assets to build their business.

John joined Murgitroyd as part of the acquisition of Creation IP by Murgitroyd in April 2022.

John is based in our Glasgow Office.
