Converge Challenge Announce 2018 Finalists

Scotland’s leading Higher Education company creation programme, Converge Challenge, have announced their 2018 finalists who will compete at the awards ceremony in the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh on Thursday, 20th of September.

Murgitroyd is delighted to be involved in the programme once again through sponsorship and in-kind support to the participants.

The competition is not only encouraging entrepreneurship amongst university students and academics, it is also breaking down gender barriers with over 60% of the companies involved in this year’s Converge Challenge being led or founded by women.

Multiple industries are also covered by this year’s finalists including renewable energy, health care and agriculture.

Dr. Olga Kozlova commented on the finalists’ announcement, “Scottish Universities are strongly committed to contributing to the Scottish Government’s economic strategy. For the university-based entrepreneurs their entrepreneurial journey starts with Converge Challenge – crystallising the business idea and making them part of the highly supportive ecosystem.”

“We are delighted with such a strong cohort of projects and look forward to working with them in the months to come.”

The winners of Converge Challenge 2018 will be announced during a dinner at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh on Thursday, 20th of September.
