Murgitroyd was delighted to present the winner and runners-up of the 2018-19 Innovator Launchpad competition with their prizes yesterday at a celebratory Awards Lunch at The Dome, Edinburgh.
John Mailey, Founder of Windstorm Renewables, a start-up in the power generation field, was presented with a cheque for £6,500 and also claimed a support and PR package from the sponsors of the competition.
Runners-up Martina Zupan from Alterwaste (2nd place), who has created an alternative to plastic made from eggshells, and Saskia Goeres and Kevin O’Malley (3rd place) from Designed forLife, who have developed an innovative sofa design, also claimed cash and support prizes.
We were delighted to be joined by former Innovator Launchpad winners, Michael Harkins of Turtle Pack and Brian Miller and Monika Tomecka of UFraction8, who shared their experiences of how their businesses had benefited following their Innovator Launchpad wins.
We were also pleased to welcome representatives from fellow sponsors Leyton UK, Clydesdale & Yorkshire Banking Group and Dog Digital to the event. Betabrand, the San-Francisco sponsors of the Innovator Launchpad space jacket couldn’t join us on the day, but were recognised in absentia.
