The Legal 500 has released its 2017 rankings and Murgitroyd has been singled out for its “highly responsive support, pragmatic advice and effective communication”. There were no less than nine Murgitroyd attorneys recommended in the editorial. .
Aberdeen-based Patent Directors Jamie Allan, James Brown and Wendy Crosby were all singled out for comment. Jamie was praised for his “brilliant attention to detail” whilst James and Wendy were said to be “extremely experienced” according to their clients.
In the firm’s Glasgow office, Patent Directors Graham Murnane and Russell Thom, were mentioned, with Graham being described as “an outstanding European patent attorney, with particular expertise in representing clients in European opposition and appeal proceedings” and Russell being referenced as a “name to note”
In York, Patent Director Peter Wilson was described as a further “name to note”.
In the Trade Mark Team, London-based Director, Mark Hickey, and Glasgow-based Director, Jacqueline McKay were both said to have “superior knowledge and experience of UK and European trade mark law” and to; “demonstrate a diplomatic and tactful approach to client care”. Director Mike Vettese, based in the firm’s Aberdeen office was described as “hugely impressive” and someone who is “a fountain of knowledge on trade mark law and practice”.
The whole Aberdeen office was mentioned for its strength in the oil and gas sector and for having “good in-depth experience” and the group’s Munich presence was said to be “very helpful with resolving issues at the EPO”.
