Murgitroyd is delighted to announce that it has donated £10,000 to support the Scottish Youth Theatre – a performing arts company based on Brunswick Street in Glasgow.

Margaret Hastie, Linda Paton and Fraser Macdonald from Murgitroyd visited the venue yesterday (29/03) to meet with staff and some of the theatre’s young performers who are currently receiving training in devising and performing for early year’s audiences as part of SYT’s Family Storytime Company.

The theatre was under threat of closure recently but, thanks to Murgitroyd and other private companies, plus a pledge from the Scottish Government to match fund any donations, that threat has now been lifted.

Gordon Stark, Murgitroyd’s Chief Operations Officer said:

“Murgitroyd is delighted to support the Scottish Youth Theatre at this crucial stage in its development. We wish them every success in the year ahead”.

Scottish Youth Theatre’s Chief Executive, Jacky Hardcare added:

“We are delighted that we can continue to provide the nation’s young people with their own thriving national theatre company to engage with, be inspired by and to aspire to be a part.”
