
Petra Pecharová

Petra Pecharová studied physics at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. She began her IP career in 2011 in a regional branch of one of the biggest French IP law firms. After qualifying as a European patent attorney, she moved to the UK where she continues to work as a European Patent Attorney.
During her career, Petra encountered a wide variety of inventions and subjects: personal hygiene products, home appliances, mechanical fasteners, electric cars, packaging, tobacco products, spray guns, drones, hospital beds, insulin pens, software for mobile phones, home assistants and IoT to name the main examples. Petra has worked with a wide variety of clients and their specific needs; she has been involved in portfolio management and prosecution all over the world (including countries less common from the European perspective) as well as above-average number of EPO oral proceedings (both examination and opposition).
Since passing her EQE in 2015, Petra has been an EQE tutor. She has been involved in Candidate Support Project, which provides support to candidates from recently-acceded EPC countries. In this role, she successfully helped a number of candidates achieve their EQE qualification. Since 2017, Petra has been a member of the epi Professional Education Committee, representing Malta and working mainly on the EQE-related issues.
