Business Analyst - Digital Transformation

About the role:

Murgitroyd is a legal professional services organisation headquartered in the UK, with offices across Europe, North America and Central America. As part of a major digital transformation programme which will see the adoption of a modern Saas solution that will streamline processes, improve operational efficiency, and support future growth, we are seeking to recruit a Business Analyst. 

We are seeking a mid to senior level Business Analyst to join the Delivery/PMO function and provide critical analytical,documentation, and change support across the programme. This role is central to ensuring that the business, technology teams, and our external SaaS provider remain aligned on processes, requirements, data needs, and organisational readiness for adoption.

The Business Analyst will work closely with the Senior Project Manager but will focus on analysis, documentation,process understanding and mapping, data and system impacts, rather than owning project delivery. This is a hands on role suited to someone who is structured, detail oriented,comfortable navigating ambiguity, and able to bring clarity to complex change.

Remote-first, with occasional travel to the London office and other company sites as required

Contract:

Full-time, 12 month contract with possibility of being extended.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Analysis

  • Map As Is and To Be processes across business teams,ensuring clarity, accuracy and alignment to programme objectives.
  • Conduct gap analysis across business processes,system capabilities, data requirements and operational practices.
  • Identify opportunities for simplification, optimisation and standardisation.
  • Maintain a structured, version controlled process library for the programme.

System & Data Understanding

  • Analyse system workflows, business rules, configuration options and process dependencies within the new SaaS case management platform.
  • Work with IT and the SaaS vendor to understand system behaviour, constraints and integration touchpoints.
  • Support data profiling, cleansing, transformation, mapping and migration activities.
  • Capture and document functional and non functional requirements that are clear, traceable and testable.
  • Support the definition of integration requirements and API related business rules in collaboration with technical teams.

Change & Adoption Support

  • Conduct impact assessments to understand how process and system changes affect users, teams and roles.
  • Contribute to change and readiness planning by identifying affected processes, training needs and documentation updates.
  • Produce or support the creation of SOPs, user guides,training materials and operational documentation.

Delivery Support

  • Assist the Senior Project Manager with progress updates,dependency tracking and coordination across workstreams.
  • Maintain documentation including requirements logs,decision logs, action logs and other PMO artefacts.
  • Ensure programme activities follow agreed governance processes and documentation standards.
  • Provide structured support to help keep activities coordinated and aligned across teams.

UAT & Quality Support

  • Support the definition of UAT scope, scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Assist in UAT planning, coordination and defect triage.
  • Ensure requirements are fully traceable through to testing and implementation.

Experience & Skills Required

Essential

  • 5–7 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in complex,cross functional or multi stakeholder environments.
  • Strong experience in process mapping using BPMN or equivalent notations.
  • Demonstrable experience in digital transformation, SaaS implementations or system enabled change.
  • Solid understanding of data flows, data quality, data structures and migration approaches.
  • Ability to document processes, requirements and decisions clearly and concisely.
  • Experience working with mixed delivery models involving IT teams, business SMEs and third party suppliers.
  • Exposure to integrations, APIs or workflow driven systems.

Desirable

  • Experience with project management systems or workflow driven platforms.
  • Experience supporting UAT, including test preparation and defect triage.
  • Experience working in evolving or low maturity environments,particularly around process and governance.
  • Familiarity with business change, training development or adoption activities.

  • Business processes, requirements and system behaviours are clearly documented, well understood and fully traceable.
  • Gaps, risks and impacts are identified early, with clear recommendations and actions to resolve them.
  • Data and integration requirements are well defined,validated and aligned across business and technical teams.
  • Stakeholders feel supported, informed and confident throughout upcoming changes.
  • The Senior Project Manager can focus on strategy,governance and stakeholder engagement, knowing that analysis, documentation and readiness activities are being effectively managed.
