Andrew McGlone

Andrew McGlone joined the profession in 2018 and is currently working towards UK qualification. Andrew qualified as a European Patent Attorney in July 2024.
Before joining the profession, Andrew completed a PhD in nanotechnology designing, fabricating and characterising MEMS devices utilising polycrystalline diamond thin films. Consequently, Andrew has extensive cleanroom experience including e-beam lithography and evaporation, photolithography, metallisation, dry and wet etching, AFM and vibrometry among other mechanical and electrical device characterisation methods.
Prior to joining Murgitroyd in 2023, Andrew worked at a firm in the South East where he assisted with UK and European patent drafting and prosecution in various fields including telecoms, electronics and consumer appliances.
Andy is based in our Glasgow office.
