Rahila (Rae) Bhat

Rahila Bhat is a member of our chemistry and biotechnology patent team.
Rae joined the firm in 2020 as a trainee patent attorney. She graduated from the University of Liverpool where she went on to complete her PhD research in polymer chemistry and nanotechnology. After her PhD she held a Marie Curie Fellowship, in Germany, researching on stem cells and regenerative medicine. During her time in research she authored a number of peer-reviewed publications and presented at conferences. She then moved back to the UK to work for multinational companies, where she gained valuable commercial and innovation experience in both the personal care and the paint sector.
Rae qualified as a European Patent Attorney in July 2024.
Rae began her career as an in-house trainee obtaining valuable experience in IP strategy and freedom-to-operate issues.
