Sophie Knott

Patent Scientist

Sophie Knott specialises in the field of life sciences, with a focus on biochemistry, organic chemistry and biotechnology.

Prior to joining Murgitroyd, Sophie worked in business development for a medical technology start-up, where her role focused on expanding business into the US healthcare market. She also ran the London branch of a life sciences business interest group.

Sophie achieved an industrial CASE PhD in biochemistry, with a thesis exploring the structural and computational characterisation of protelomerases for application in synthetic biology.

While undertaking her BSc in biochemistry, Sophie was awarded the Whittingham Prize for outstanding academic achievement. As part of her studies, she completed two independent research projects, including one focused on electrophysiology.

Sophie joined Murgitroyd in 2022.
