Fabien Richaud

After completing a Masters degree in Pharmacology and an MSc in biochemistry at the University of Nice, Fabien Richaud did a six-month internship at leading French IP Firm Cabinet Lavoix in Lyon. While there, he acquired the basics in patent-related matters.
Fabien joined Murgitroyd in 2005 after obtaining qualifications in patents, trade marks and designs at the “International Centre of Intellectual Property of Strasbourg” (CEIP) and a first experience as an in-house patent specialist in an international pharmaceutical company. Fabien quickly qualified as a European Patent Attorney.
Fabien has experience of drafting and prosecuting patents in various technical fields (see “Core Technical Expertise” below), providing assistance in managing international patent portfolios (and, if required, acting as in-house Patent Counsel for his clients), preparing legal opinions (e.g. patentability and Freedom to Operate opinions), helping client with patent acquisition/selling/in- and out-licenses, handling opposition and appeal proceedings before the EPO and French litigation proceedings.
