Annemarie Parsons was appointed Director (Deputy Head & Training Lead) Patent Paralegals in August 2023. Annemarie is a highly skilled paralegal with over 25 years of experience, having joined Murgitroyd in February 2019 following the acquisition of Chapman IP by Murgitroyd. She is based in the Southampton Office.
Her responsibilities include preparing and delivering training and training materials for paralegals, and the standardisation of work in the Patent Paralegal department, assisting the paralegal support team to ensure that the day-to-day workload and demand is effectively and efficiently processed. Annemarie also assists in the career development and continuing professional development of paralegals. She is experienced in the onboarding of new clients and the acquisition of offices.
Annemarie manages patent and design portfolios, liaising closely with attorneys, as well as managing co-ordination with outside counsel and clients to ensure that clients’ IP prosecution needs are implemented in an accurate and timely manner.
Annemarie works very closely with the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and is currently the Chair of CIPA’s IP Paralegal Committee, as well as a Lead Course Tutor and Examiner for the official paralegal qualification of the UK registered patent profession.
