Jonathan Cray
Senior Patent Attorney
Dr Jonathan Cray has extensive experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the UK and Europe, with a focus on chemistry- and biotechnology-related inventions. During his PhD studies, Jonathan attained nine peer-reviewed publications and received recognition from the BBC and NASA for his work on characterising the destabilising effect of perchlorate salts (commonly found in Martian soil) on macromolecular structures.
Before joining Murgitroyd in 2022, Jonathan worked in a leading London law firm, where he assisted a team representing multinational pharmaceutical companies in high-profile patent litigation cases. He then began training as a patent attorney with a Belfast-based law firm and qualified in 2021.
