Kate Syrtsova

Kate Syrtsova studied mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes at Moscow State University of Technology – STANKIN – and gained both MEng and BEng qualifications in technology, equipment and automation in manufacturing. She immediately embarked upon a career in intellectual property.

A qualified European, UK and Irish patent attorney and an EU design attorney, Kate joined Murgitroyd in 2011 after spending ten years with a private firm of patent and trade mark attorneys in Dublin. She advises on IP strategy, patentability, infringement and industrial design-related matters. Kate’s primary specialty is drafting and prosecuting patent applications. Her clients range from individuals and start-ups to large corporate clients.

Her expertise covers a wide range of technical fields, including general mechanical engineering, oil and gas industry, power engineering, food and drink industry, construction, agricultural and road machinery, manufacturing and lab equipment, power tools, medical devices, weapons and general consumer goods. Kate is primarily based in our Dublin office.

Kate is also a Registered Trade Mark Attorney in Ireland as well as a European Trade Mark & Design Attorney.
