York
Philip Groves specialises in the chemicals sector, although he has been involved in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in a wide range of technical fields. These include pharmaceuticals, coatings, food production, mechanical devices, nanomaterials and industrial machinery.
Before joining UDL, Philip studied the mechanisms of light-induced protein degradation. His research encompassed a wide range of chemical, physical and biological knowledge, such as photochemistry, biological structures and fundamental photophysical processes. The interdisciplinary nature of Philip’s research sparked a desire to broaden his knowledge into the wider chemical and engineering industries.
Philip has a particular interest in the development and application of green technologies, as well as ground-breaking analytical techniques.
Philip joined UDL in September 2018 and subsequently Murgitroyd as part of the addition of UDL in October 2021. Philip is based in our Leeds Office.
