Malcolm Main has worked extensively with universities, small to medium sized biotechnology companies and large corporate clients, advising on all aspects of the patent process. He has extensive experience with a broad range of pharmaceutical and life science disciplines, including pharmacology, immunology, and cancer therapy.

After obtaining an Honours Degree in Immunology and Pharmacology from the University of Strathclyde, Malcolm moved on to the University of Oxford. He was awarded a DPhil relating to cellular cardiovascular electrophysiology. He then worked in post-doctoral research in the Department of Pharmacology, before entering the patent profession in 1997 with a leading private practice firm of patent attorneys in London.

Malcolm joined Murgitroyd in 2002, and has been a Director since 2005. He’s been based in our Nice office since 2008. As Director of Professional Practice until November 2019, Malcolm chaired Murgitroyd’s Practice Board and had responsibility for the professional activities of more than 80 patent and trade mark attorneys and assistants throughout the firm.
