Maria Raudaskoski has a Masters degree in Telecommunications Engineering, with a major in Telecommunications Systems and a minor in Technology Law. Her minor studies included courses in the field of information society, such as intellectual property law, software patents, open source software and different licensing agreements. During her studies, Maria worked in a Finnish communications and information technology corporation as a patent engineer. Her responsibilities included evaluating third party patents, creating patent landscapes and mitigating the risk relating to third party patents. Her tasks also included analysing invention reports, making background and prior art searches, and offering technical expertise during the invention evaluation.
Maria joined Murgitroyd’s Helsinki office in 2014. She works on patent drafting and prosecution, primarily jurisdictions in the Europe and Finland. Her technological experience includes telecommunications, computer-based systems, electrical, medical and mechanical engineering. She also works on EU design applications and Finnish trademark applications.
She is currently moving towards being a fully qualified patent attorney in Finland, the UK and Europe. Maria is a student member of the European Patent Institute (EPI).
