Emma Hodson

Director, Trade Marks

Emma Hodson has over 25 years of experience in intellectual property. After joining Castles in 1991, where she became a director, Emma qualified as a registered trade mark attorney in 1993. Following the merger with Murgitroyd, she is now a Director in Murgitroyd’s Trade Marks Group.

Emma has particular experience of assisting multinational companies in the management of their trade mark portfolios, including brand selection and strategy. She’s also experienced in trade mark searching and filing, and maintaining and protecting trade marks.

Her work has naturally led to dealing with contentious matters throughout the world, including oppositions, revocations, invalidity actions and infringement. She has particular experience in UK opposition proceedings.

Emma has worked with a number of brand creation companies, advising on name selection and methods of searching and protection.

Some of her major clients have been in the following sectors: biscuits and confectionery, Cosmetics, Pharmacy services, Motorcycle parts and accessories, Culinary education, Clothing and footwear, Financial services, Charity services relating to childbirth and parenting.

Emma is based in our London Croydon Office.
