Fabien Richaud

After completing a Master's degree in Pharmacology and an MSc in Biochemistry at the University of Nice, Fabien Richaud did a six-month internship at a leading French IP Firm, Cabinet Lavoix, in Lyon. While there, he acquired the basics in patent-related matters.
Fabien joined Murgitroyd in 2005 after obtaining qualifications in patents, trade marks and designs at the “International Centre of Intellectual Property of Strasbourg” (CEIP) and a first experience as an in-house patent specialist in an international pharmaceutical company. Fabien quickly qualified as a European Patent Attorney.
Fabien has experience of drafting and prosecuting patents in various technical fields, providing assistance in managing international patent portfolios (and, if required, acting as in-house Patent Counsel for his clients), preparing legal opinions (e.g. patentability and Freedom to Operate opinions), helping client with patent acquisition/selling/in- and out-licenses, handling opposition and appeal proceedings before the EPO and French litigation proceedings.
