Joanna Winwood

Joanna Winwood’s portfolio is focussed mainly within the biotech field. Her day-to-day work involves worldwide prosecution of patent applications relating to technology such as DNA sequencing and medical devices.

Joanna has worked with universities and their spin outs, large multinational businesses as well as small businesses based in the UK and Europe, providing patent drafting and prosecution services and freedom-to-operate advice.

With an educational background in chemistry, lab-based experience in molecular biology, and a particular interest in the plant sciences, Joanna has worked in a variety of technical areas over the years. She has previous experience in areas such as polymers, analytical chemistry, toxicology and small-scale industrial chemistry, as well as significant experience in the biological field, in areas such as plant breeding and genetically modified plants.
