
Martin Shaw
Patent Attorney
Martin Shaw is a qualified European and UK Chartered Patent Attorney. Martin’s primary specialism lies in the field of electronics, software-based inventions and advanced lithographic apparatuses which are used to create the most advanced microchips in the world.
Martin was a PhD student at the University of Strathclyde, with his research focused on the characterisation of semiconductor alloys which have potential uses in water-splitting devices and other solar energy absorption applications. Prior to this, Martin also completed an integrated Masters degree in Physics from the University of Strathclyde, which included a project focusing on the simulation of microwave devices for generating plasma, used in various applications, including fusion energy from tokamak fusion reactors.
Martin entered the profession in 2016, having previously worked for another large private practice firm, where his work focused on telecommunications and other electronic devices, such as mobile devices.
