Director, Patents, Head of Designs Team
One of the most experienced attorneys in Europe in the field of registered designs, Wendy leads our design practice.
Among the first attorneys to register designs when the EUIPO began accepting applications in 2003, Wendy has since built an extensive client base across various sectors, including an internationally recognised home electronics company and one of the world’s most well-known financial institutions. Her assistance has helped clients to build design portfolios from scratch, up to many thousands of cases.
Wendy protects designs in both traditional (3D) products (like electronics, medical devices, sports equipment and clothing) as well as more modern, technology-focused (2D) areas, including graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and animated icons.
Wendy is also a patent attorney with vast experience in advocacy and has been involved in shaping the IP strategy of some of the fastest-growing companies in the energy sector. She works for a variety of clients in the oil and gas industry, assisting with a broad range of mechanical engineering disciplines.
Her focus on providing concise, strategic and commercially relevant advice helps companies to secure the strongest possible design protection. With an impressive record of both defence and enforcement in the UK and Europe, Wendy delivers commercial success for her clients.
A member of the Institute of Physics and a regular attendee at IP-related events worldwide, Wendy also conducts workshops and seminars on design matters to help clients, foreign associates, and industry bodies stay up-to-date with the nuances of the law.
