Neil Penhall Appointed as Non-Executive Chair of Murgitroyd

Murgitroyd, a leading provider of intellectual property services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Penhall as Non-Executive Chair. Murgitroyd is committed to its ongoing growth strategy, and Neil’s extensive background in leading professional services organisations with Private Equity backing will further strengthen the firm’s leading position in the market.

Neil brings over 30 years of experience in consulting and professional services, most recently serving as CEO of SLR Consulting until October 2023, a global sustainability solutions firm. Under his leadership, SLR expanded across North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific, growing staff numbers from approximately 1,200 in 2018 to over 3,000 today. He was also instrumental in driving both organic and acquisitive growth, overseeing more than 30 acquisitions and significantly expanding revenue and EBITDA.

Neil was a main board member with SLR through multiple private equity transactions, including investments by Livingbridge and 3i. As CEO he led investments by Charterhouse Capital Partners, and Ares Management Corporation, demonstrating his expertise in fostering strategic partnerships and executing successful investment cycles.
