We are delighted that our colleagues have once again been recommended in the 2022 World Trademark Review 1000: The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals.

A huge congratulations to Alan Fiddes, Mark Green, Sharon Kirby, Gareth Price and Alison Simpson, who all made the cut this year.

The WTR 1000 states:#

“The… team offers valuable advice and strategic input for any new trademark applications when considering multiple territories at once, applying in-house thinking for the best approach and efficiency, as well as when dealing with legal proceedings.”

“Alison [Cole] goes above and beyond… She not only entirely understands the technicalities of IP law, but also has unique insight and a genuine passion for the fashion industry – in particular, the nuances of sustainability and innovation in the sector.”

“Taking his rightful place in the WTR 1000 this year is head of litigation Alan Fiddes, one of the first trademark attorneys to qualify for litigation rights. In addition to his contentious work, he is a savvy portfolio manager.”

“While [Mark] Green semi-retired recently, he remains on board as a consultant and continues to share his extensive knowledge and insight on both patent and trademark issues.”

“A solid choice for both portfolio management and oppositions proceedings, Leeds-based [Sharon] Kirby is credited as “proactive and responsive”: “She is succinct in laying out the expected timeline for a matter, analysing possible steps from the other side and explaining legal documents in an understandable manner.””

“The multi-talented [Gareth] Price ably deals with contentious and transactional mandates as well as strategic filings. According to clients, he “provides clear and concise advice, and can take complex IP and commercial issues and communicate them in a way that makes them understandable and enables sensible commercial decisions to be made, with a clear understanding of any relevant risks.””

“[Alison Simpson] is sought out by the likes of Hitachi for her niche expertise in the area of certification marks.”
